COMPARISONS
Comparisons are a common strategy to showcase the benefits of our products.
We differentiate between a split image (standard) comparison and a side-by-side (end result) comparison. We should always include text for clarity.

-
The desired effect is presented on the right side
-
Always include pop-up texts
-
Split comparison images are divided by a vertical line
-
If we compare two end results, we do not need to separate them by a line
-
Remember that different camera angles are possible to highlight the difference
In special use cases when we compare 3 items, we can split the image into 3 equal parts. All other rules still apply.
Comparisons in images
Dividing line
-
The line is white colour (RGB 255/255/255)
-
Line thickness is the width of the image divided by 360, rounded to the nearest even number (i.e. for a 6000px wide image, the line thickness is 16px (6000/360=16.67))

Pop-up text
-
Pop-up texts are connected to their respective part of the image with a line ending with a slight T-handle
-
For text sizes, see On-screen text
-
Pop-up texts should have preferably the same form and length, i.e. if one says "with AbsoluteCare", the other should say "with traditional", not just "traditional"
-
If this is not possible (e.g. one text is one line and the other two lines), align both vertically to their optical center (see image on the right)
Icons
-
Icons should be white
-
Icons should be scaled to roughly 1/5 of the width of the image
-
Depending on the context and composition, size of the icon can be adjusted
Crops
-
Make sure all OST and OSG are within the square crop area. Read more about image crops in Technical requirements

Comparisons in video
Video takes a slightly different approach to comparison shots:

Dividing line
-
Line thickness is 8px
-
The dividing line fades out towards the bottom and top of the shot over the distance of 100px
-
The line should be fully transparent when it meets the top of the shot and the top of the copy
-
This can be achieved by giving the line a mask that ends 100px above the copy and 100px below the top of the shot, and has a feather of 100px

Pop-up text
-
Pop-up text does not need to be connected with T-lines
-
Pop-up text should be horizontally centered to the left/right half of the image
-
Pop-up text is 350px from the top border and is the same size as the copy (75px in most cases, 63px if the copy is long and uses a smaller typeface)
-
Pop-up texts should have preferably the same form and length, i.e. if one says "with AbsoluteCare", the other should say "with traditional", not just "traditional"
-
If this is not possible (e.g. one text is one line and the other two lines), align both vertically to their optical center (see image on the right)
Icons
-
If accompanied by an icon, the icon should be 230px wide, one line away from text, and horizontally centered to its respective half of the image
-
For icon thickness and design, please follow Icon guidelines
-
In case of a two-line pop-up text and an icon, you can move all elements slightly up to prevent them from being too close to the copy
-
Icons are never animated in comparison shots
